TACHE ARTISAN CHOCOLATE
Tache Artisan Chocolate is the perfect place in NYC’s Lower East Side to escape the cold and warm up with a hot cocoa, a specialty box of truffles, or a chocolate-making class. Formerly known as Christian Vautier Le Concept, Tache was started by pastry chef, Aditi Malhotra in September, 2012, and has taken the confectionary world by storm. An artisanal “chocolate boutique” and café, Tache offers take-away chocolates and hot drinks, specialty chocolate-making classes for kids and adults, high teas, and chocolate fondues. Tache also regularly provides memorable and mouth-watering gifts and custom favors for weddings, corporate functions, and birthday parties.
Tache’s CEO and culinary mastermind, Malholtra, is a graduate of the Glion Institute in Switzerland and learned the art of food science and chocolate confections at the French Culinary Institute. She has been featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in food and wine for 2014 and has also been featured as part of Zagat’s 30 Under 30. Both Tache and Malholtra have been featured in publications including The New York Times, InStyle, Time Out New York and the Huffington Post, while also serving as a chocolate caterer to numerous celebrities such as Martha Stewart and Valentino.
This brand’s namesake comes from the French word “tache,” meaning spot, stain, or smudge. When it comes to Malholtra whether she’s in the kitchen creating a new seasonal truffle flavor or teaching a couples date-night chocolate class, she always manages to have a “tache” of chocolate on her chef’s coat.
This holiday season, get on Santa’s nice list by replacing his old cookies with some of Tache’s decadently delicious seasonal sweet treats! Favorite seasonal goodies include spiked eggnog truffles and champagne truffles, 3D chocolate Christmas trees, and Santa’s peppermint bark. There’s a little bit of something for everyone!
